Jewish Wedding in Spain at Masia Victoria | Tradition, History, and Emotion

Finding the Perfect Venue for Your Jewish Wedding

On Friday, June 6, 2025, I had the immense privilege of officiating Sara and Benjamin’s Jewish wedding in a setting that breathes history and art: Masia Victoria, in Sant Pere de Ribes (near Sitges and Barcelona).

This intimate celebration, surrounded by close family and friends, was not just an act of union, but a deep immersion in Jewish tradition within a space that magnified every emotion. For international couples or wedding planners seeking excellence on the Iberian Peninsula, the choice of venue is key.

Masia Victoria: A Unique Setting for Your Ceremony in Catalonia

Masia Victoria, with its distinct Catalan charm, proved to be the ideal venue for a Jewish ceremony.

  • Unique Atmosphere: The wedding took place in the indoor space visible in the photo, highlighted by its hand-painted murals (angels, peacocks, and natural scenes).
  • Design and Spirituality: The combination of stone, warm lighting, and the room’s layout created an intimate, elegant, and deeply spiritual atmosphere, perfect for contemplation.
  • Focus on the Ceremony: This distinctive setting helped focus attention on the essentials, elevating the meaning of every step of the Jewish ritual. It is an excellent example of how a venue with soul can enhance a ceremony of high symbolic value.

The Essential Elements of an Authentic Jewish Wedding

Every Jewish wedding follows a traditional structure full of meaning. For Sara and Benjamin, we carefully attended to every detail:

1. The Solemn Signing of the Ketubah

The signing of the Ketubah (the Jewish marriage contract) was performed during the ceremony and in front of all the guests.

  • Inclusion and Meaning: The couple chose an English translation of the traditional Hebrew text, ensuring that their international guests understood the depth of the commitment they were making.
  • Local Tribute: The Ketubah featured an artistic border inspired by Barcelona, a detail that honored their place of union and made it even more personal.

2. Traditional Sheva Brachot and Breaking the Glass

The ceremony included the Sheva Brachot (The Seven Blessings), sung with the beauty and intention that these ancient texts deserve.

The culmination, with the breaking of the glass, was a powerful reminder of the fragility of life and the value of remembrance, a moment that unites all Jewish weddings around the world.
