Jewish and Interfaith Wedding in Alicante: Deby and Manuel Under the Chuppah
On May 1, 2026, Deby and Manuel celebrated their wedding at El Roalet de Kiko, a beautiful wedding venue located in Elche, Alicante, Spain. A day filled with meaning, emotion, and joy.
As a Jewish cantor and officiant specializing in Jewish and interfaith weddings, I had the honor of accompanying them on one of the most important days of their lives.
A Jewish Wedding in the Gardens of El Roalet de Kiko
The setting chosen by Deby and Manuel could not have been more welcoming.
The gardens of El Roalet de Kiko, surrounded by palm trees and Mediterranean vegetation, provided a beautiful natural setting for a very special celebration.
At the center, an elegant chuppah decorated with white fabric and flowers awaited the couple. On both sides of the aisle, wooden chairs and floral arrangements completed the warm and harmonious atmosphere.
Every detail helped create an intimate setting where Jewish tradition and the couple’s personalities found their own place.
An Interfaith Wedding Ceremony Bringing Two Traditions Together
Deby is Jewish, and Manuel is Catholic. Therefore, their wedding was also a celebration of the coming together of two traditions.
Jewish interfaith weddings hold a special meaning. They allow each person to honor their roots while building a shared future together.
It is not about leaving personal beliefs behind. Instead, it is about finding what brings people together: love, respect, trust, and commitment.
I always prepare each ceremony with the couple’s story, traditions, and wishes in mind.
After all, no two love stories are alike. And every wedding deserves to reflect that uniqueness.
The Chuppah: A Symbol of the Home They Will Build Together
One of the most recognizable elements of a Jewish wedding is the chuppah, also spelled huppah, the traditional Jewish wedding canopy.
This structure, traditionally open on all four sides, symbolizes the home that the couple is beginning to build together.
A home where there will always be room for love, hospitality, understanding, and mutual respect.
At Deby and Manuel’s wedding, the chuppah blended naturally into the venue’s gardens. Its white fabric and floral decorations added elegance and simplicity.
However, its true value lay in what it represented: the beginning of a new chapter and the promise of walking through life together.
From a Meaningful Ceremony to an Unforgettable Wedding Celebration
After the ceremony, the celebration continued in an extraordinary atmosphere.
The couple’s happiness spread to their family and friends, leading to a particularly lively wedding reception filled with music, dancing, and shared moments.
It was one of those celebrations where you could feel the happiness of everyone present. The smiles, energy, and enthusiasm made the day truly special.
After all, a wedding is not only about making a commitment to one another. It is also an opportunity to bring loved ones together and celebrate the beginning of a new story.
And Deby and Manuel did exactly that, with enthusiasm and plenty of joy.
Is It Possible to Have a Jewish Wedding if One Partner Is Not Jewish?
Many couples planning a Jewish wedding in Spain ask themselves this question.
The answer depends on the religious tradition and the type of ceremony they wish to celebrate.
Judaism includes different movements and approaches. While Orthodox Judaism does not recognize religious interfaith marriages, some rabbis from progressive Jewish movements and independent Jewish wedding officiants work with couples from different religious backgrounds.
As a chazan (Jewish cantor), my role is to help couples incorporate elements of Jewish tradition and Jewish heritage into a personalized, respectful, and inclusive wedding ceremony.
Therefore, if you are looking for a rabbi for a Jewish or interfaith wedding in Spain, it may also be helpful to explore the services of a Jewish cantor who specializes in these celebrations.
What matters most is finding someone who understands your story and helps you experience an authentic and meaningful ceremony.
Deby and Manuel, My Warmest Wishes
Every wedding leaves different memories. And every couple brings a story worth celebrating.
I would like to thank Deby and Manuel for placing their trust in me and for the warmth with which they welcomed me.
It was a true honor to accompany them on such an important day and share in the happiness of their families and friends.
Dear Deby and Manuel, I wish you a lifetime filled with love, health, happiness, and togetherness. May you always have reasons to smile, plans to share, and dreams to build together.
Mazal Tov!
Every Couple Has a Story. Every Ceremony Is a Unique Moment.
Deby and Manuel’s wedding is a beautiful example of how Jewish traditions can become part of an interfaith celebration while respecting each partner’s beliefs and identity.
As a chazan and Jewish and interfaith wedding officiant, I have the opportunity to accompany couples from different cultures and nationalities, both in Spain and across Europe.
Based in Barcelona, I travel to officiate wedding ceremonies in Alicante, Valencia, Madrid, Mallorca, Andalusia, Portugal, Italy, and other European destinations.
However, beyond the location, what truly matters is each couple’s story. That is why I take the time to understand their wishes, traditions, and what makes their relationship special.
Because a wedding ceremony should be more than simply following a ritual. It should be moving, meaningful, and, above all, reflect the story of two people choosing to share their lives.
