The First Judeo-Christian Wedding in Spain: A Unique Integrative Ceremony
I’ve been wanting to share with you one of the most special experiences I’ve had in my more than 35 years of experience.
It was a ceremony that marked a milestone: the first Judeo-Christian wedding celebrated in Spain by a Jewish officiant and a Catholic Priest.
This wedding was truly meaningful, both for me and for the couple and their families.
A Meeting of Traditions
On June 2nd, 2012, in the majestic Villa Bugatti in Vilassar, a unique wedding was held, integrating the best of two deeply respected traditions: Judaism and Catholicism.
Amanda and Carlos, the couple, decided that their ceremony would reflect their beliefs and their love for both traditions.
It was a great honor for me to be part of such a significant moment in their lives.
The Preparation: Many Meetings, Four Hands
What made this ceremony so special was the planning and collective effort.
Through several meetings with Father Joan and the couple, we worked together to create a ceremony that respected both the Jewish and Catholic traditions.

Although It wasn’t easy, but at the same time, it was a deeply enriching process.

Also, the wedding ceremony, which combined elements from both rites, was a true example of how religious differences can coexist and enrich each other.
Watching how the families united in harmony, with gestures of respect and understanding, was an experience I will never forget.
I remember with great affection the moments when both officiants, Father Joan and I, would look at each other and feel that we were creating something beautiful together.
